Till Krautkrämer was born on planet earth in Heidelberg, Germany, just in time to watch the1969 moon landing. It's possible that the ontological anxiety brought about by this historical event helped shape his rare personality type: The German With A Sense Of Humor. He was educated in Heidelberg.

Rather than serving in the German army as a Teutonic Killing Machine, Till fulfilled a 2-year public service commitment working with those who were already handicapped and/ or deceased. This work first exposed him to the mangled limbs and meaty humanity that would eventually inform his pieces. The other part would come in an extended stint in the world of commercial photography:
Till worked started his artistic career joining Atelier Steinke in Heidelberg (1990). He started working with his Mentor Werner Pawlok in Stuttgart as well as all over the world in 1992 and in the burgeoning fashion industry in Miami in 1995 until finally settling down as an artist and conceptual commercial photographer in Brooklyn in 1996, where he now lives with his dog Motor and his girlfriend Michelle.
